Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Chill Commit is a mobile app I built and run as a solo developer. It helps you track cold and heat exposure — cold plunges, saunas, and similar activities. This policy explains what data I collect, how I use it, and what rights you have.

2. Information I Collect

Account information

When you create an account, I collect your email address and any profile details you choose to add (display name, profile picture).

Activity data

I store the activity sessions you log — duration, temperature, activity type, location name, and any notes you add. This is the core data that powers your history and statistics.

Location data

With your permission, I access your device's location to show nearby water temperatures and relevant local information. Location coordinates are used on-device for lookups and are not stored on my servers.

3. How I Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the app's functionality
• To display your activity history and progress
• To show nearby water temperatures based on your location
• To send timer and session notifications (on your device only)

4. Data Storage and Security

Your account and activity data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encrypted storage and secure authentication. I take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no transmission over the internet is 100% guaranteed to be secure.

5. Third-Party Services

I use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — authentication and data storage
• YR.no — water temperature data
• PostHog — anonymous usage analytics
• Expo / React Native — app framework and notifications

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data I hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Withdraw consent for location access at any time in device settings

To delete your data, use the data deletion page or contact me directly.

7. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, I will remove your personal data from Supabase within 30 days. You can also request manual deletion at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

Chill Commit is not intended for children under 16. I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If I become aware that I have, I will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

I may update this policy from time to time. I'll notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
